What to send for a Tampa project
Include wide photos of each room or exterior area, close-ups of damage, approximate dimensions, and product information. Let us know whether you need a single repair or several connected improvements so the estimate includes preparation, protection, finishing, and cleanup.

Building in Tampa: what changes here
Who issues the permit. Inside the city, the City of Tampa Construction Services Division handles permitting. Note how they split it: single-family and duplex are residential, but condos, triplexes and apartments are processed as commercial. Work in unincorporated Hillsborough goes through the county instead.
Real coastal exposure. Analysis of FEMA’s National Flood Hazard Layer puts about a third of Tampa’s land area inside a Special Flood Hazard Area, including VE coastal high-hazard zones with wave action along the bay. For comparison, Brooksville is around a sixth and Spring Hill under a tenth, both with no VE at all. Flood map panels across Hillsborough carry different effective dates, so the panel matters as much as the zone.
Wind requirements can change across the city. The 140 mph design contour runs through Hillsborough County on a diagonal, which puts much of Tampa on the higher side and parts of the northeast on the lower. That threshold is what triggers wind-borne debris opening protection, so it is not academic — it changes windows, doors and fastening schedules. We confirm it per address with the building department rather than assuming a city-wide number.
The most varied housing we work with. No single decade dominates, and Tampa has a substantial pre-1950 stock — bungalow and masonry vernacular in the older neighbourhoods — alongside large modern multifamily. Older-home work leans on doors, trim and finish carpentry and surface preparation and painting; storm work on restoration repair and rebuild.
Tampa is our staffed service area, worked by our own team rather than covered from Citrus Springs. Send the property address with your request so we can confirm scheduling.
Permitting, flood and wind details above are drawn from the issuing authority, FEMA’s National Flood Hazard Layer and Census American Community Survey 5-year estimates. Requirements are set per parcel by the authority having jurisdiction — confirm your address with them before relying on any of it.
