Put every surface in the scope.

A useful painting estimate identifies the walls, ceilings, doors, baseboards, and exterior surfaces involved. Color changes, surface condition, access, and protection all affect the work. We discuss those details before the project starts.

What to send for an estimate

  • Wide photos of each room or exterior side, plus close-ups of peeling, cracks, stains, or damage.
  • The surfaces to include: walls, ceilings, doors, baseboards, and exterior trim.
  • Approximate dimensions, ceiling height, access restrictions, and whether the space is occupied.
  • Color and finish choices, or a note that you want to discuss them; list materials you already have.

Interior & exterior painting: common questions

Can you paint a single room or the trim?

Yes. Describe the room or trim work and include photos. Small scopes can also be grouped with repairs, flooring, or door work so the estimate covers the whole job.

What affects the cost of painting?

Surface area and condition, preparation, repairs, number of colors, ceilings and trim, access, protection, and the coating system affect the estimate. A room count alone does not describe the preparation.

Do I need to choose paint before asking for an estimate?

No. Tell us whether the color, sheen, and product are selected. If you already have paint, include its label and quantity so we can discuss whether it fits the scope.

Can painting happen with new flooring or baseboards?

Yes. Include all connected work in one request so demolition, repairs, painting, installation, and final touch-ups can be sequenced together.
